Vecna Technologies, a vendor of health IT focused on patient intake, clinical surveillance and telepresence robotics, has launched the Vecna HealthPass Mobile App.
HealthPass is an extension of the company’s digital patient intake portfolio, which is deployed in more than 2,000 health systems. The app empowers patients with a convenient, contactless experience to safely preregister and check in for appointments, the company said. The intake process is streamlined for staff, and revenue cycle management is enhanced with mobile bill pay, it added.
HealthPass reduces administrative interaction by leveraging the patient’s existing phone features. It uses biometric facial recognition; location services that enable geofencing for automatic check-in; text alerts for appointment reminders and billing alerts; and the device’s calendar, contact data, images and wallet.
The company’s Patient Intake Platform provides self-check-in anytime, anywhere. Patients can conveniently preregister and check in for appointments from any device; complete digital forms and questionnaires, including COVID-19 screening; update demographics; and confirm insurance eligibility, the company said.

Mobile medical communications company ALLM has debuted a new integration feature designed to further strengthen its secure, compliant, cloud-based JOIN platform for care coordination, clinical collaboration and decision-support solutions.
Maintaining a focus on driving efficiency in emergency and acute care settings, this new feature will allow for automatic EKG data transmission from an ambulance to a hospital chat room with providers.
With this innovation, the company said, team members can avoid logging into vendor portals and inefficiently identifying the right patient and the right ambulance at the right time. Further, it added, the new integration improves patient safety and outcomes, while enhancing both provider simplicity and quality of life.
Plus, the EKG device integration opens up bidirectional communication between the hospital/provider and EMS in the field.
By integrating with the EKG auto feature, ALLM also is unveiling a companion initiative of integrated mHealth programs for emergency and acute care, facilitating efficient communication, coordination and collaboration, and offering effective decision support and quality improvement, the vendor said.
