Dynamics 365 Intelligent Order Management (IOM), Microsoft’s new solution for managing order fulfillment and optimization across channels, has reached general availability.
IOM’s primary capabilities include automation of fulfillment, low-code/no-code configuration built on the Power Platform, and an event-driven orchestration service that can coordinate across connected systems.
«Intelligent Order Management uses machine learning to learn how business users react to each exception and provide better recommendations each time–helping them achieve optimal stock levels and improve cash flow,» wrote Stephanie Dart, director of Dynamics 365 product marketing, in an announcement of the product’s GA launch.
IOM was announced in March at Microsoft Ignite 2021 and began its preview in April. By June, Microsoft had several pre-built connectors for the service that included indirect tax provider Vertex, e-commerce vendors Magento and BigCommerce, and supply chain solution vendor Korber.
IOM aims to help businesses manage a range of channels, including in-store and e-commerce, mobile apps, EDI, retail and social marketplaces, and CRM and sales applications. Fulfillment providers will include WMS systems, 3PLs and 4PLs, stores, and drop-shippers. It will also help manage delivery, parcel, and freight providers.
IOM will take advantage of existing Power Platform connectors. And the inventory visibility service is built on Microsoft Dataverse.
