T-Mobile US Inc. faces possible punishment from a California regulator that said the company may have misrepresented facts about its plan to shut down a wireless network that Dish Network Corp. uses for millions of mobile phone customers.
T-Mobile needs to “show cause why it should not be sanctioned” for “false, misleading or omitted statements,” the California Public Utilities Commission said in an Aug. 13
ruling. It set a Sept. 20 hearing.
T-Mobile in an email called the regulator’s action “meritless and without basis in fact” and said it looks forward to “setting the record straight.”
